Peter Hess Sound Massage & Sound Baths

Introduction

I am Romy and I am a certified Peter Hess Sound Massage Practitioner practicing in Melbourne, one on one with clients. I also run Group Sound Baths (private and public) & host Mini Urban Retreats in St Kilda East.

What is a Sound Massage?

In private one-on-one sessions, the Peter Hess therapeutic bowls are carefully placed on your clothed body and gently played in a particular sequence.

The therapeutic instruments used are all highest grade Peter Hess quality, (sourced fair trade and certified by the Institute in Germany)

The bowls have a vibro-acoustic effect upon your body. This means you can feel the sound as well as hear it.

The vibrations ripple through the bones, organs, tissue and fluids removing blockages and restoring the natural flow of energy and balance. The non harmonic frequency range of the bowls resonate with certain body areas.

The gentle sound waves created harmonise with our brainwaves and slow them down. When this happens the heart rate and breathing also slow down. This creates a deeply relaxing state that provides the nervous system the time and space to recalibrate itself.

Allowing the nervous system to reset assists in the reduction of stress and negative impacts of stress. The Peter Hess Sound Massage treatment combines evidence based medical and scientific research with ancient eastern philosophy.

what is a sound bath ?

Sound has been used as a calming tool for thousands of years.

A Sound Bath is when healing instruments are played for a group to create a therapeutic atmosphere that helps us rest deeply, rebalance our nervous systems and help us release emotions.

The instruments I use are highest grade Peter Hess quality, (sourced fair trade and certified by the Institute in Germany). I follow the Peter Hess methodology creating Sound in a therapeutic way.

During our hectic lives we are bombarded with stimulation and information.

The intention of a Sound Bath is to provide you with the time and space to be still and silent allowing your brain waves to slow down and your parasympathetic nervous system to activate. (When the body and mind are at rest, healing may occur).

WHY HAVE A ‘peter hess’ SOUND MASSAGE?

  • This Sound Massage technique has been researched and proven by sound and medical academics around the world. The Peter Hess Institute in Germany is the leading sound expert in the world and is the only global institute teaching this vibro-acoustic ‘Sound Massage’ technique using these premium therapeutic grade bowls.

  • It removes the stress and demands from the nervous system so the nervous system has time to restore, reset and realign itself (decreasing the flight or fight response). This helps us feel grounded, better cope with life stress, make decisions, concentrate and feel content in ourselves and with others.

  • It provides you with the deepest form of physical and mental relaxation. In this state, profound healing can occur (mental, physical, spiritual).

  • Improves physical and emotional health.

  • Reduces anxiety and depression.

  • Improves the clarity of the mind.

  • Boosts immunity.

  • Improves mental health and the ability to make grounded decisions.

  • Quietens the mind and provides much needed stillness away from technology.

  • Improves sleep.

Sound Sessions can be applied both broadly (to create a deep state of relaxation to de-stress the mind and body) and specifically (to target oriented outcomes complementary to specialised healthcare professions).

Sound MASSAGE WORKS on our bodies AND OUR MINDS

The frequency of the sounds synchronise with the brain frequency slowing down the brainwaves activating our parasympathetic nervous systems. This soothing trance like meditative state of deep relaxation is where the nervous system can reset, repair and rejuvenate.

The subtle vibrations penetrate all areas of our body (which is around 70% liquid) and gently massage every organ, tissue and cell, going deeper than a muscular massage, encouraging flow of the body fluids and harmonising the cells back into their natural state of organisation.

This powerful yet gentle technique creates a deeply nourishing tranquil state providing the body with the optimal environment for physical, emotional, spiritual rest and repair.

Precautions

Sound Baths and Sound Massage use sound and vibration to gently lead you into a deep state of relaxation.

Instruments that vibrate are placed upon the body or held in proximity to your body. As a precaution, these treatments are not recommended if you are pregnant, have bi-polar or a pacemaker.
